Daily Prayers

Prayers are offered daily, led by the resident Imam, five times per day. These are a fundamental part of Islam and take place at prescribed times throughout the day, that vary according to the length of the day, at different times of the year.

Taking time out to pray, five times a day, helps us remember Allah (or God) and our purpose in life – Prayer (or Salah) is one of the five essential pillars of Islam.

When we turn towards Mecca, we are united with all the Muslims around the world who face the same direction, and when we raise our hands to begin Salah, we put aside the stresses and worries of life to remember our Lord.

Learning

The SMC provides adults (currently male groups only) with Tajweed and Quran classes to support the learning and practice of correct Quranic arabic pronunciation and recitation.

Please enquire with the Imam for this week’s planned session.

Funeral Washing Service

A dedicated washing (Ghusl) facility has been provided, which includes the Ghusl room, cold room, storeroom and hearse parking all available, for pre-burial rites and associated prayer arrangements.

The Imam can advise on local hearse services and the cemetery contacts in the Surrey area

Religious Advice

The SMC has a dedicated Religious Advice Service through the Imam. The Imam is here to provide you with the best advice possible according to the Qur'an and the Sunnah. The Imam can provide advice in English/Bangla/Hindi and Urdu.
